When a plumber visits the remote farmhouse of two murderous sisters, he’ll need a trick up his sleeve to survive in Damn Handy.
Written and directed by The Craft and Flatliners screenwriter Peter Filardi, the 18-minute horror-comedy can be viewed in its entirety below.
Roger Clark, best known for portraying Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption II, stars alongside Kaili Vernoff, who played Susan Grimshaw in the video game. Kellari Crispin, Elliot Evans, Jason Deshefy, and Colin Clark round out the cast.
Winner of Best Short Film at the Chattanooga Film Festival, Damn Handy‘s crew features local high school students in key positions.
“These shorts don’t make any money,” Filardi told me during a set visit. “They’re just to have fun, to teach, to inspire, to share my passion for horror movies with other people. I’ve always been open to the collaborative process.”
He continued, “Everyone is working for free, for the love of cinema. It’s not my film; it’s our film. I get a huge kick out of seeing people thrust into those key positions and stepping up. In my experience, 99.9% of the time they do exactly that. It’s very rewarding.”
