A character-driven mystery-thriller, “Untamed” uncovers a murder on the grounds of Yosemite National Park.
The series is created and written by Mark L. Smith (The Revenant, Twisters) and his daughter Elle Smith (The Marsh King’s Daughter), who also serve as showrunners and executive producers.
Dark secrets will be revealed when all six episodes hit Netflix on July 17.
Erica Bana stars as Kyle Turner, a special agent for the National Parks Service Investigative Services Branch who works to enforce human law in nature’s vast wilderness. The investigation of a brutal death sends Turner on a collision course with the dark secrets within the park, and in his own past.
The cast also features Sam Neill as Paul Souter, the longtime chief park ranger in Yosemite and a friend to Turner; Lily Santiago as Naya Vasquez, an ambitious former Los Angeles cop turned Yosemite ranger squad; Rosemary DeWitt as Jill Bodwin, Turner’s ex-wife who maintains a strong bond with her former husband; and Wilson Bethel as Shane Maguire, a former army ranger turned Wildlife Management Officer at Yosemite.
Bana also executive produces alongside John Wells and Erin Jontow via John Wells Productions; Todd Black and Tony Shaw for Escape Artists Entertainment, Steve Lee Jones for Bee Holder Productions; and Cliff Roberts for Syndicate Entertainment.
Thomas Bezucha (“Fargo”), Neasa Hardiman (“Jessica Jones”), and Nick Murphy (The Awakening) are among the directors at the helm.
