It seems games like DREDGE were only the beginning. Developer Mūn Mūn Games is shifting horror and fishing to a first-person perspective with Out Fishing, where a remote lake has you questioning your night fishing expedition, as the fish don’t seem to be the only things watching you.
Coming soon to Steam, the premise for Out Fishing is pretty straightforward: you head to an abandoned lake for some old fashioned fishing. However, the lake itself isn’t quite right. Things really get creepy after sunset, as things start moving through the forest, hiding in the fog, and sometimes decide to take a dip in the lake.
Still, you must persevere, since you need that money. You’ll need to search for rare fish, but also scattered remnants of the past. Time is your enemy, but the farther you go, the closer you get to the truth. Fish, sell your catch, upgrade your gear, and build up your camp. The rarer the fish, the bigger the profit.
Just as it sounds, you’ll be dealing with a day/night cycle in Out Fishing, where the rarest fish only come out at night. But as mentioned, so does whatever is lurking in the darkness of the forest. But at least you have the safety of your camp (for now).
