Michigan man allegedly stabbed his fiancée to death and confessed in 911 call

WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (TCN) -- A 25-year-old man is in custody on suspicion of fatally stabbing his fiancée.

According to the Waterford Township Police Department, on the afternoon of June 13, a man called 911 and said he stabbed someone. Officers responded to a home on Hackett Street and made contact with the caller, later identified as Seth Martin, and he was taken into custody.

Inside the home, police located Martin's fiancée, 33-year-old Mallory Myers, who the Detroit Free Press reports was on a bedroom floor with multiple stab wounds. Responders rendered aid, but Myers was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities reportedly recovered the weapon allegedly used to kill Myers in a sink.

Martin faces a charge of first-degree murder and remains held in the Oakland County Jail without bond.

In a statement obtained by the Detroit Free Press, Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said, "Domestic violence is a leading cause of death for women ages 15-44. Mallory Myers wasn’t a statistic. Her life had purpose, and she should be with us still. We intend to bring Mallory’s killer to justice."
