In 28 Years Later, “It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.”

The press release eloquently describes the movie: “Think ‘American Horror Story‘ if it had a kinky and debaucherous fetish filled three-way with Martyrs and Hostel in a church pew.”

In the film, “The Eden family are devout Christians who do everything they can to live the word of God and set an example of what is right and wrong. They have been very successful in business and are rich beyond their needs. In order to give back, the family throws garden parties. Each guest that is lucky enough to find a key at the party gets to have their most wished for dream come true. But a dream for some can be a nightmare for others.”

Whitney Peak (Hocus Pocus 2) stars in the horror film alongside S. Epatha Merkerson (“Chicago Med”), Golda Rosheuvel (“Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story”), Laken Giles (All the Weekend’s Drama), and Finn Bennett (“True Detective: Night Country”).

Adapted from a graphic novel called Mr. SandmanEye for an Eye infuses classic elements of small-town horror with the visual flourishes and story elements of a gothic fairy tale.

Eye for an Eye follows Anna (Peak), who moves from New York to a small-town Florida to live with the grandmother (Merkerson) following the sudden death of her parents. Feeling isolated, she falls in with some rough teenage locals (Finn Bennett and Laken Giles) and becomes a bystander to an unforgivable act of violence.

She soon finds herself ensnared by the twisted soul of a tormented child from the town’s past, “Mr. Sandman,” who feasts on the eyeballs of his victims. The more she learns about Mr. Sandman, the more she learns about the truth of her own family.

The script was written by author and artist Elisa Victoria (who also wrote the graphic novel). It was produced by Ley Line Entertainment (Everything Everywhere All at Once).

When Korean pop superstars Rumi, Mira, and Zoey aren’t selling out stadiums, they’re using their secret identities as demon hunters to protect their fans from supernatural danger. Together, they must face their biggest threat — an irresistible rival boy band of demons in disguise.

The animated film is directed by Chris Appelhans (Wish Dragon) and Maggie Kang from a script they co-wrote with Danya Jimenez and Hannah McMechan.

Michael Patrick Jann (Drop Dead Gorgeous) directs from a script by Abby Miller (“Justified”).
